Study Group: The Seven Adjutant Mind Spirits

Human consciousness, as described in The Urantia Book, is a composite result of seven stages of evolutionary mind reception that began with the earliest forms of animal life. As higher animal species with increasing brain capacity emerged through the processes of purposeful evolution, the capacity for mind reception also increased, culminating in the human capacity to receive all seven adjutant mind spirits.

In this episode of Study Group, we’ll be looking first at the remarkable evolutionary achievement that enables a physical organism to connect to non-physical mind circuits. Our brain and nervous system provide an extensive communication network that reaches every part of our body. This functions like an antenna for the “wireless” reception of mind and consciousness, as provided by our local universe Mother Spirit.

When all seven levels of mind function are fully engaged, we then have the capacity to receive spirit endowments, starting with the Holy Spirit, which enlarges our “viewpoint of ethics, religion, and spirituality.” (103:0.1) The subsequent gift of the Father’s indwelling spirit presence, combined with our willing engagement with the spirit presence of Jesus as provided by the Spirit of Truth, completes our threefold spirit endowment that enables us to evolve an immortal soul that can survive the inevitable disintegration of our physical body.
