HUNGER AND POVERTY ADVOCACY VIDEO | GROUP 5

The greatest pressing issue that our nation has ever faced is poverty

Poverty Causes Hunger

Due to high costs and a sizable population with poor incomes, the Philippines has high rates of hunger and malnourishment.

In 2018, More than 105 million people are living in poverty.

People living beside polluted places are affected by their improper hygiene and urban dwellers are even more affected by their insufficient intake of healthy foods.

Filipinos suffer from extreme poverty, making it common for parents to be unable to provide for their family. As a result, kids must be pulled out of school and forced to labor in dangerous situations. In the Philippines, statistics indicate that 3.6 million kids between the ages of 5 and 17 work as children. The population as a whole makes up 15.9% of this.

Many Filipino Adults are unable to complete their education because of poverty, more than the poor youth choose to work instead of studying

According to UNICEF, Children who grow up in poverty frequently lack the nutrition, hygiene, housing, medical care, and education necessary for survival and growth. Around 1 billion children worldwide are multidimensionally poor, which means they lack needs like clean water and food.

How do we lessen poverty in our nation?

  • Spread Awareness to reduce poverty in our country

Next is Education, then Job, People must take this first step in order to grow and succeed in life. No matter how difficult it is to land a job, they keep trying because they are aware that it is also for a bright future, regardless of how little or how much money is being made. Filipinos are not poor; only their environment and mindset are. Due to their poor environment, Filipinos grew up with a poor mindset and poor decision-making skills. This is the result of a lack of knowledge when it comes to financial management.
